Love Note: Chapter 4

"Matt, Im cold.", Mello shivered, his sweater wasnt enought to keep the cold out,
"So am I Mello.", Matt shivered, wrapping his arms around Mello,
"Can we use your Jacket as a blanket?", Mello asked,
"Okay, But were gonna need your sweater.", Matt replied, taking off his over-sized jacket, Mello following, unziping his hoodie.
They layed back, Matt reaching for Mello's hoodie trying to cover their legs, then grabbing his jacket and spreading it over there shivering bodies. They stooped shaking, and eventually fell asleep.
"And they call me a fag!", Near snorted,
"Yeah, But were smart fags!", Mello yelled, half asleep.

"Light-Kun,", L mumbled, "Can we sleep in the car over-night?"
"Sure, but uh...we dont have any food with us.", Light glanced over at what was left of the food that Mello, Matt and Near ate.
"Well, We would be sleeping most of the time, and besides, we would only have to wait about 2 hours after we got up anyways,", L sighed and looked out the window, "and what if something happens to them?"
Light hugged L from behind, "They should be fine, They are 14 after all, and well, from what you and Watari told me, they are preety smart, and wouldnt go eat poison berrys or something."
L laughed a little bit, "No i guess not."
L leaned back into Lights arms, and they eventually fell asleep.

The boys awoke later to a blood curtling howl.
"MATTT!!!", Mello screamed, "WHAT WAS THAT?"
Matt gulped, "A wolf."
Mello clinged onto Matt, "Matt, its gonna eat us.", Mello cried
Near came running over, his face paler then it ussually ever is, "Did you guys hear that?"
"No shit queer boy! Why else would I be clinging onto Matt?!", Mello snapped,
"Because you two were sleeping together.", Near retorted,
Mello blushed, "Near...re-phrase that please.", Matt burst out laughing.
"Matt, Im scared.", Mello buried his head into Matts shoulder,
"Im scared too.", Near wailed,
"And you guys think im not?", Matt growled,
A sudden rustle came from the bush behind them, making them scream.
"MATT WHAT WAS THAT?", Mello screamed,
"How the hell am I suppost to know?", Matt screamed back
"L!!!!", Near screamed,
"Okay okay okay,", Mello sighed, "I have a solution, lets go on a night walk."
"Okay, lets try it.", Matt laughed nervously,
Mello grabbed his hoodie, put it on and zipped it up, Matt doing the same with his jacket.
"All right!", Mello said, "Lets march."
"Such determintation!", Near exclaimed sarcasticly,
"Shut up queer boy.", Mello punched him in the stomach.
"Ow...", Near moaned
"Okay, Hold hands or link arms?", Matt asked,
"Link arms.", Mello replied.
The three linked arms and started walking, tonight was going to be a long night.
"I wish we had a flash light.", Mello muttered,
"Yeah, Atleast we could figure out what was ahead of us.", Matt replied
"I wanna go find L.", Near cried,
"Is anyone else hungry, but me?", Matt asked,
"Holy shit! Your still hungry? You ate like a ton of food in the car tho!", Mello yelled
"I have a big appatite.",Matt replied
"We are lost in the middle of the forest, and all you can think about is food?", Near grunted, "We could fricking die out here!"
"SHUT UP NEAR.", Mello yelled,
"What, Im telling the truth!", Near yelled back.
"Ya well you cant handle the truth!",
"Yellow Mellow."
"Near the Queer."
"STOP IT.", Matt yelled.
Just then, they heard another blood curtling howl.
'Uhh..Matt..", Mello whispered..
Matt paued, "yeah.."
"What was that...", Near continued Mello's sentance, still whispering.
Another Howl was heard, this time not so far away. The boys turned around to see a snarling, vicous, wolf standing there.
"L!!!", Mello screamed, tears falling down his eyes,
"Just back away...", Matt looked at the wolf, slowly stepping backwards,
The wolf moved towards Mello, snarling,
"L! HELP US!", Mello yelled and ran away,  
"Mello! Wait!", Matt ran after him, Near following shortly after,
"L!!!! HELP US!!", Mello screamed, still running,
"MELLO! Wait up!", Matt yelled at him,
Mello didnt hear him, "L!! HELP US!",
Mello ran up to where Light had parked the car. L was laying in Lights arms.
"L!!!", Mello screamed, "THE SAVAGE WOLVES ARE GONNA EAT US!"
L raised his head and slightly turned it, "Mello?"
"L!!", Mello rammed himself into the car, "HELP!",
L moved quickly from Lights hold, and opened the door, waking up the sleepy brown haired boy.
"L!", Mello screamed, Jumping up into his lap.
"Mello? Are you okay?", L asked wrapping his arms around the sobbing blonde boy,
"Its scary out there.", Mello wailed before burying his head into L's chest,
"Its okay Mello, your safe now.", L comforted the small boy,
"L..What happened?", Light asked
L looked back at Light, and turned towards him a little bit, "This."
Light examined Mello, who was still sobbing, soaking L's shirt. L rubbed Mello's back and tried to soothe him. Near and Matt showed up a few minutes later, joining the sobbing Mello.
"You guys, what happened?", L asked, his arms still wrapped around Mello,
"T-t-the wolf.", Matt cried, Hugging L,
"It...was going to eat us.", Near wailed,
Light laughed, "Baby."
L shot Light a dirty look, "Shut up. Kira-face."
Light folded his arms across his chest and looked out the window.
L picked up Mello, and set him on his feet, then stood up and opened the back door, climbing in. Matt, Mello and Near followed him. Near slamming the door as he got in. L sat behind the passanger seat, his legs streched out, Mello climbed on top of him, Matt and Near somehow finding a way to lay on the backseat with them. After a few hours of L soothing them, the boys finally fell asleep.
Light chuckled.
"What?", L asked,
"You know, If you had a wife and were married, they could be your sons.", Light smiled,
L smiled back, "Yes, now only if they could get along."
Light laughed, "Well, thats what brothers do."
They both laughed,
"Hey, Is that why your so protective of them?", Light asked,
"I guess, There the only family I have really.", L sighed
"Awe, Im sorry."
"Dont be, its not your fault after all."
Light yawned, "Well, I gotta sleep, Good night L."
"Night Light.", L giggled at the ryhme,
Light sprawled out on the front seat, locking the car doors before he did of course.
L looked out the window again before falling asleep.

Light started the car, hoping not to awake the braniac's in the back.
"Nnn..", Mello moaned as the sunlight beamed on his face,
"Shit, Did I wake you up?", Light looked at him in the car Mirror,
Mello yawned, "Nope. It was the damn sunlight."
"Haha, Sorry there Blondie.", Light laughed a little bit,
Mello sat up, "Where are we going?"
"Oh sorry, After last night I figured you would wanna go back into the woods, so Im driving you guys back to the orphanage."
"Oh...", Mello yawned again and streched his arms then moving over into the empty space behind Light, "Hey, could you turn on the radio please?"
Light reached over and pressed the dail. Angel Dust by Iceman was playing. Mello started bobbing his head, and singing along to the song.
"So you like Iceman?", Light asked,
"Yeah, there one of my favorites.", Mello responded,
"Ahh, what other music do you like?"
"Too many to name.", Mello laughed a little bit
Light chuckled and started singing along to the song,
"Light...Shut up your horrible at singing!", L moaned and pushed Near off the seat.
Light and Mello laughed, then went back to listening to the songs on the radio.
"Ohh, I like this song.", Mello said as "Kanashimi no Moukou He" played from the radio, "Its sad and depressing, but the girls voice is absoulutly beautiful, and the music is very beautiful."
"Ahh, I agree.", Light smiled, Looks like we have stuff in common. Mello smiled and looked out of the window. He was happy that L was back.
